This project focused on creating a website experience that is accessible, readable, and intuitive for all users, regardless of ability or device. I conducted a full accessibility audit of EMMA International’s main website to identify usability and compliance gaps, then executed strategic redesigns to enhance visual hierarchy, alt-text completion, and content flow. These updates ensured the site met modern accessibility standards while maintaining EMMA’s clean, professional aesthetic and improving overall user engagement.

Led accessibility-focused website improvements to ensure EMMA International’s corporate site met both WCAG 2.1 and ADA compliance standards. Focused on visual clarity, content readability, and inclusive user experience design for a global audience in the life sciences industry.

Impact of Accessibility & Optimization Enhancements

The accessibility improvements across EMMA International’s website led to measurable increases in usability, engagement, and overall digital performance. Following the redesign, page navigation became smoother for users with assistive technologies, while improved text contrast and button clarity enhanced readability across all devices.

Analytics reflected a notable reduction in bounce rates and higher click-throughs on contact and newsletter forms, indicating stronger user trust and interaction. Consistent placement of subscription and contact CTAs also simplified user pathways, while optimized multimedia integration expanded content reach through embedded videos and linked social platforms.

Collectively, these changes made EMMA International’s website not only more visually cohesive but also more inclusive—ensuring every visitor could interact, learn, and engage without barriers.
