Visual & Content Accessibility Redesign
This project focused on redesigning EMMA International’s digital case studies—short video explainers and written overviews highlighting client success stories. The goal was to improve readability, accessibility, and visual engagement while maintaining brand consistency and aligning with ADA and WCAG 2.1 standards. Using tools like Canva, YouTube Studio, and Adobe Express, I restructured layouts, improved hierarchy, and optimized multimedia integration for an inclusive user experience across all platforms.

Engagement & Accessibility Impact
Before the redesign, EMMA International’s case studies had strong content but lacked accessibility and clarity. The pages were text-heavy, visually uniform, and difficult to navigate, especially on mobile devices. Key takeaways were buried in long paragraphs, while minimal visual breaks made it hard for users to scan or retain information. This limited both engagement and accessibility, particularly for viewers relying on assistive technologies or smaller screens.
I introduced a structured and accessible redesign that prioritized clarity, hierarchy, and user flow. Headings and subheadings were implemented for each section (Challenge, Approach, Outcome), allowing for faster navigation and improved comprehension.
I also increased text contrast, adjusted line spacing, and rebalanced color ratios to align with WCAG 2.1 AA standards. Thumbnails and banners were redesigned to feature larger titles, consistent framing, and alt-text for screen readers. Finally, I integrated CTAs linking directly to YouTube and related blogs, creating a seamless cross-platform content experience.
Following implementation, view-through rates increased by 35%, and average watch time grew across multiple case studies. Bounce rates dropped due to improved page structure, and the addition of descriptive thumbnails boosted click-throughs from newsletters and The Deep Dive podcast promotions.
Overall, the redesign made EMMA International’s case studies more inclusive, scannable, and visually engaging, transforming them into one of the brand’s most effective storytelling tools.
Reflection – Accessibility as Good Design
This project demonstrated how inclusive design not only improves accessibility but enhances communication. By rethinking structure, layout, and readability, I helped turn long, complex regulatory stories into clear, engaging narratives that resonate with a wider audience.
